Morning Coffee
Today, for the first time in a while, someone made the coffee before I arrived.  I was unaware of any coffee in the office other than the PapaNicolas I brought and the Gevalia that I constantly buy.  Not knowing my coworker had used a different coffee, I nabbed myself a cup and sat down to my normal work.
I took a sip and almost jumped at the strange bitter taste.  It was not a bad flavor, but it was definitely odd to me.  Thinking it was just a combination of the apple I had just finished eating or something of that nature, I took a nice mouth filling drought with the next sip.  The pleasant smokey taste I associated with the current coffees was present and I set the cup aside with satisfaction.  After a moment of working, however, I realised that a strange aftertaste was now sitting in my mouth.  I couldn't identify it, but I didn't have any problems with coffee, so I finished off the cup and went to make more coffee since the previous pot was empty.
When I went to retreive myself a fillup of coffee, I encountered the person who had made the first pot.  After a bit of conversation, it was revealed to me that the first pot was of a different coffee.  Caribou Coffees Mohagany.   Finally, I had learned of the odd tastes.  Apparently, Mohagany uses molasses, spices and semi-sweet chocolate.  After the revealation, I realised that it was indeed the flavors I had tasted.  I am not sure if I actually LIKE the coffee, but it is an interesting flavor.  I will have to make the next pot with the new coffee and taste it with full knowledge.
Verdict as of this moment?  Good coffee and willing to taste again.
