SoundExchange offers temporary reprieve on 'Net radio royalty increase

A while back, I wrote about the outrageous prices about to be enacted on webcasters all over. I followed for weeks the battle to contact people who could make a major difference and help the independant musicians retain their musical outlet. At some point I lost track of the battle because of RL and work and such, but today I heard a great cheering across the internet... The voice of the people were heard through the power of congress. Congress has stepped in to suggest that SoundExchange work together with internet webcaster to define a more reasonable rate."SoundExchange has decided not to enforce the Copyright Royalty Board's new Internet radio royalty scheme, choosing instead to try and hammer out an agreement with webcasters large and small."Be sure to read the article!
